Actors Civic Theater presents the timeless story of Willy Wonka, the world's most famous candy man and his quest to find an heir, comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Starring Rob Frankenberry and featuring songs from the classic family film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. The memorable score features “The Candy Man”, “Pure Imagination”, “Oompa Loompa”, and “Cheer Up Charlie” by Academy and Grammy award winners Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, neatly fitted into a new script adapted under the auspices of the Dahl Estate. The show is directed by ACT’s Artistic Director, Mary Chess Randolph, and will be performed at the Baverso Theater in the Father Ryan Arts Center of Focus on Renewal.
